Usually, they have an object or amount on the bottom side. On the Right Side, amounts are shown to indicate how much of what there is.

When you want an easy way to control information in bars displaying amounts, histograms are definitely your best bet.

How Do I Use A Histogram?

Scan the bottom to observe what you are finding the amount of. Read the left side to finally determine how much of what you are measuring.
